CONFIRMATION NEWS

An idea sprung up from the question-How can we maximize our assets when we are a small group? Combine resources! Trinity, Messiah, St. Mark, and Grace Lutheran churches have partnered together to form one amazing Confirmation program.  Each of the four churches have wonderful gifts and sharing those with each other has formed a relationship rooted in Christ, passionate in guiding young people, and nurtured through faithful leaders.

Amid the Covid pandemic, our churches along with students and leaders are developing a relationship and creating a model of Christ centered life for all families and members.  Let us continue to share this with all God’s people.

The week of Thanksgiving, our group spent one morning at Feed My Starving Children. What a wonderful way to start the holiday. We followed the morning of packing with a trip to Portillo’s for food and fellowship. We ended the year by creating an edible craft.  Fun was had by all.

Service day at Messiah Lutheran Church

The Confirmation students spent their day off assembling school kits for Lutheran World Relief.  Messiah Lutheran church, one of Trinity’s partner churches, provides these kits to Lutheran World Relief.  Members of their congregation sew the backpacks and donate the supplies needed for the school kits. Not all children have the advantages we have in the United States for an education.  Many don’t have local schools, or the supplies needed to learn.  Our students were excited to put these kits together and to be able to help other children around the world.  Not only did they make these school kits, but they got to help provide a meal for those in need.  Every Monday, Messiah has a hot lunch for those in need.  Our students made sandwiches and packed bag lunches.  Then they handed out hot lunches, the sack lunches, canned goods, and some clothing items.  This was a wonderful experience for all who attended.  Thank you to Messiah Lutheran for allowing us to help.
