Our Faith In Action

Five Loaves & Two Fish

Five Loaves & Two Fish Community Lunches are held on the second Saturday of each month from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm. Volunteers prepare the food and extend fellowship to the attendees. Currently this is a drive thru event due to the pandemic.

Trinity is teaming up with Exodus World Service again to provide a welcome pack consisting of basic household items as well as some basic food staples for another refugee family from Afghanistan that will be settling in our area.

As the devastating crisis in Afghanistan continues, families from this country and other war-torn countries are being resettled in Chicago. Exodus volunteers are welcoming 15 refugee families this month with many more expected in the upcoming future.

Please be advised that we need new, unused items. By gifting new items, we show respect and provide dignity. An itemized sign-up list is available on SignUp Genius and the link is below.

We will be collecting donations starting Sunday, September 12 thru Sunday, October 10. Donations may be dropped off at the church office. Please contact David Swanson: daveswan99@aol.com or Teri Prokes: terip97@aol.com if you have questions or concerns.

Afghan interpreters risked (and often gave) their lives in support of American and allied forces. They should be considered in a class similiar to our veterans, as they often shared mortal danger with our troops, and many suffer from symptoms of PTSD.
