Beginning as a mission church in 1925, Trinity Lutheran Church has grown from an original membership of nineteen to a congregation of over one thousand adults, teens, and children. Our ministry has grown as well as our size. In addition to worship services, religious education and fellowship for all age groups, we offer social programs and outreach ministries that are free and open to the community.
Trinity Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and its Metropolitan Chicago Synod. Through the ELCA, Trinity is linked with almost 65,000,000 Lutheran Christians in bringing the good news of Jesus Christ to people around the world. Through social service agencies like Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI), Lutheran Disaster Response, ELCA World Hunger Appeal, Lutheran World Relief and Lutheran Ministries, Trinity is part of a network of healing that encircles the world. The people of Trinity welcome people of all ages, economic conditions, educational backgrounds, ethnic heritages, and sexual orientations to participate in the life of the congregation. As Lutherans we believe that God has joined humanity through the life, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ; that God freely offers forgiveness to all who are broken; and that in the Bible we read the story of how God is acting for good in this and every time and in every place.
Our shared faith unites us in a community in which we give daily witness to the faith, hope, and love that God’s grace offers everyone. To guests, strangers, and those in need, we invite you to join with us in sharing God’s grace. ALL ARE WELCOME!
